Oh, what sleep.

My eyes are drunk with all that night,

All that quiet darkness that tells me

Not to think, not to hear, not to see.

All I know is the blanket of warmth,

An aura of comfort around my body.

Softness, smoothness, tenderness touching

Me and filling me with feeling.

I plunge myself into the ocean

Of dreamless slumber, swimming deeper

And deeper, pushing through

Heavy currents of black and blue.

As I reach a new depth, take me, oh night.

Then only will I be ready to return to the light.
