Come and see the black wood!
Its newly varnished gleam
Is very lovely to the eyes.

Come and feel the black hood,
With golden, crafted trim
Of little lilies, birds of paradise.

Careful, though, do not exclaim
In uncontrolled delight.
It is a shame,
But in this night,
We cannot smile but have to cry;
For in the box I now must lie.
